According to the Red Cross "...as many as 40 percent of small businesses do not reopen after a major disaster like a flood, tornado or earthquake. These shuttered businesses were unprepared for a disaster; they had no plan or backup systems."

She is also the Executive Director of the New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association. She graduated from Rutgers College of Engineering and received her Masters degree in engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Alexander Nemiroff is a Partner in the Philadelphia office of Jackson Lewis LLP.
